My Friend Anna
by Rachel Deloache Williams

This book makes for a good read for a summer trip. You can breeze through it very quickly. I particularly recommend the audio book for hearing the author's narrative view. Well structured to draw reader into the author's anxiety/plight brought on by this friendship.

Dead After Dark
by Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse Series

This book follows very closely along with the first season of True Blood with the exception of the characters Tara and Jessica being absent. Like the show, features great cast of characters well drawn from the outset. The book is told in first person from Sookie's perspective, so you get an even better sense of her point of view than in the show. The audiobook is especially well done in terms of Sookie's accent, attitude, etc.

This is another one of my daughter's favorite books. We do all the sounds to it and when we're done we always reread it again and again.

His books are interesting,, easy to read, and take you on a journey that might even touch your own life.

The Familiar Dark

Amy Engel writes a really good mystery. Her characters, like Eve, have grit and gumption. She relys on herself to find her daughters killer.

Untamed Glennon Doyle

This is a great read that combines personal anecdotes with self-empowerment. Reminiscent of books like Elizabeth Gilbert's Big Magic (the author references Gilbert as a friend/mentor). Focuses a lot on parenting and on her relationship with wife Abby Wambach. Will probably make a lot more sense if you've read her previous book(s) first.
